This visual treatment gives the story about a beach ball-shaped boy with a stomach ache a nostalgic look sophisticated enough to lure modern readers. As the doctor removes each item from the boy's stomach (a parasol, a bicycle, etc.), they appear in full color on the opposite spread, and the boy gradually returns to his natural size and shape.

Dear publishing industry: Someone please bring this wonderful story back into print! I would buy multiple copies for the library where I work and my personal library at home.

Dear readers: This is a clever, funny story. You can increase your fun by turning it into a shadow play and acting it out. Someone can lay on the floor behind a white sheet and another person can pretend to be the Doctor and pull all sorts of silly objects out of the patient's belly.

A familiar book

I chose this book because I have had prior experience dramatizing it (as a play)
with 1st graders. It lends itself to creativity, for example, whatever objects
children (actors) brought to use as swallowed objects, the nurse or doctor (child)
thinks of something to rhyme in a surprised/horrified comment as they bring it into
view. Fun.

Hard to find books

I wanted a copy of this book to give to a friend who works in a children's hospital. It is hilarious and encourages the child to tell the story or even act it out. Amazon did a great job of locating the book which is currently out of print.

Rindra Ramamonjison is a fourth year PhD student of electrical engineering at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. He received his master's degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology. He has played various roles in many engineering companies, within telecom and finance industries. This book is easy to read with a promise to provide step by step procedures to learn Apache Spark Graph Processing. To the most extent, Mr. Rindra Ramamonjison fulfills the promise. There are several errors in the book as such reader gets confused and can not be followed through the text. For example, spark-1.4.1-bin-hadoop2.6.tgz does not have the directories: core, graphx, mllib, sql, and streaming in SPARKHOME. Also, in the directory data, there are no files such as people.csv and links.csv.

Apart from the above superficial errors, the book met my expectation to learn Graph Processing.

It's OK

I'm a huge fan of Kathy's. I think her stand-up is hilarious. She has some priceless bits, like her recollection of Brooke Shield's wedding. I stayed up all night reading this book.

Some of her revelations are entertaining and juicy, like how Tupac couldn't read, and John Hamm is a drunken lout. The biggest thing I didn't like is her celebrity worship. She gushes like a crazed fan about certain celebs as if she doesn't realize she's "one of them." She's surprised when a celeb recognizes her, but they'd have to be living under a rock to not know who she is. She's been on TV for decades, and she's known for skewering celebs. They all have to be aware of her, out of fear, if nothing else.

JUICY, FUNNY AND ENTERTAINING!

Kathy Griffin's Celebrity Run-Ins: My A-Z Index by Kathy Griffin is a fun read which many readers will enjoy. The book is about the “run-ins” that the comedian, actress, author and Grammy winner experienced first-hand, and you can safely vouch for its veracity. As the book’s title suggests, it is indexed painstakingly and methodically, and you have the option to pick and choose and select the entries in the book. Else, like reading any other normal book, you can start from the beginning and read it through to the end.

If you love or hate Kathy Griffin either as a person or entertainer or even writer, you’ll surely love this book which deals mostly with the relationships she had with other celebrities. Or if it can’t be called a relationship, at least it is her views about others, which may be a much more appropriate description. In the book, she talks about a lot of people ranging from Warren Beatty to Woody Allen to Barbra Streisand to Demi Lovato to Leonardo DiCaprio to Donald Trump, and to Ellen DeGeneres just to name a few. this book is all about getting people to "open up" through the use of carefully designed questions. the reader will learn how to influence other people's behavior via questioning - and, importantly, listening. the author does a good job in demonstrating the value of "leading" people, through the deliberative process, to sound judgements and opinions. this book goes well beyond what the title promises. it will teach you how to control the direction of conversations with desired outcomes achieved. being a coach myself, i would have liked a few more actual examples included in the text.

This book is easy to read and full of great examples. I've started asking better questions already and I've noticed my job performance getting better. My wife read the book, too, and I think our marriage will benefit more and more as we communicate better -- all because of asking good questions.
